Last Friday, we went to the St. Louis Museum of Art. We weren't very camera savvy on this trip, so this picture is all we have to show for it. We tried to take pictures inside but the docents didn't approve. The museum is pictured in the background (they light it up real pretty at night). The streaks of light on the right and the left are the lighted fountains in the big reflecting pool they have in front of the museum. And if you look real close, our family is there in the center of the picture. Baby Charles is the blur moving between Erica and I, symbolizing his current stage of mobilization. The darkening sky symbolizes the uncertainty of what's before us, or maybe just the late evening hour that we kept Charles up until, which made him a little cranky. He recovered the next day.
It's a free museum, and rather nice as far as art museums go. I want to go back in a couple of weeks to watch them restore an old painting--they are making the restoration project into an exhibit of its own. I'll make sure to sneak a photo of it--sounds neat!
